Wednesday Hodgepodge
2. Do you have the 'gift of gab'? Haha...yes. I love to talk. Is that a blessing or a curse? I would say for the most part it's a gift...my hubby likes it when I got to work events because I'm good at small talk. I can usually find something to talk about with anyone. Though sometimes I do become rather quiet if I feel like my voice doesn't matter, or I'm not being heard. I suppose it could be a curse, because sometimes I just babble, especially when I'm nervous, or my words just don't come out right if I'm upset or flustered. I don't do well when confronted or caught off guard.
3. What's something you have going on that you need/want to 'wrap up' this month? Well, I'd love to say the finishing of our addition, but I know that is not going to happen. So I suppose I will say, "wrapping up as. much as possible".
4. A food you love that is 'wrapped' in some way? Chimichanga...I'm sure there are others, but that came to mind first. I love them so much, I occasionally make a "baked" version at home.
5. December is upon us...share something here (quote, verse, poem, song lyric, your own thoughts) related to the word hope.
I love the word hope, and I know I have many songs on my spotify playlist surrounding that word, but I can't think of them right now. Back in May our theme for #WQWWC was hope, here's that link with my thoughts, but I did love this quote:
"Hope is not dependent on peace in the land, justice in the world, and success in the business. Hope is willing to leave unanswered questions unanswered and unknown futures unknown." ~Henry Nouwen
6. Insert your own random thought here. We had a good Thanksgiving. I did feel a bit "off", maybe because I knew I wouldn't be able to call my dad (he passed away in July) and I didn't hear from my sister at all. But overall it was a nice day.
Last Saturday we took our grandson to see "Jurassic Quest" at our local event center. Oh my. If you have kids that love dinosaurs, you should go to this. So much fun!!!
Sunday, my youngest daughter and I and a friend of hers grabbed my grandson and took him with us to hunt for a tree. That was a blast. So busy weekend but filled with fun.
This week starts our busy season at work....yikes. I work for a place called The Letterbox. It's kind of like a UPS store but privately owned. I love it, but we will be very busy with our normal tasks, and an increase in people shipping packages. People are wonderful and often bring us goodies, gift cards, one family (who has a mailbox with us) brought us lunch one day. They're the best, and part of what makes small town living so wonderful.

Oh...I love your tree. Cute photo of you and your grandson. Holidays are tough when you've lost loved ones. Happy Hodgepodge to you.
ReplyDeletethank you Ellen.
DeleteIs that a Frasier Fir? That is my favorite tree to purchase but they don't grow in Alabama. We have to buy our Frasier Firs at a tree lot where the trees were cut several days before and shipped to Alabama. That is such a cute photo of you and your grandson in the matching shirts. I'm sorry about the loss of your dad. The first of every holiday is so hard.
ReplyDeleteIt is a Noble Fir. I was talking to a customer at my work that was talking about Frasiers. HE was thinking of growing some. Thank you for your sweet comments.
DeleteThat's a lovely photo book. That is a nice quote you shared. We have to have hope in our lives!
ReplyDeleteOh my, the photos are all so cute.
Thank you!
