Summer 2021 Bucket (intentionality) List

It's time for our Summer Bucket List (intentionality list for me) hosted by Leslie from Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After. This has been fun to join in. My first time was for the fall list.

First let's give a final report on Spring's list. I'll keep it short and hit on the key ones that I feel I did better at.

Did Better On:
* Reading..if you like book boxes, check out Shelfrighteous Book Box. It's so fun, and focuses on women authors and women owned businesses.
* I did paint the dresser, now I just need to buy hardware....it turned out fine but not perfect. It'll work.
* I did plant my containers...I need to replant a few things that aren't coming up yet.
* Exercise...Ugghhh things still got in the way, but last week I managed 4 days so that is a win.
*I signed up for a photography meet up. I'm excited.

Here's a link to my last spring link up since much of it stayed the same.

I was struggling to categorize things this time so I'm just going to make one long list.

SUMMER BUCKET LIST IDEAS

* Workout at least 5-6 days a week. Maybe two of them will be walks, or something creative outside, something other than working out inside.

*Smoothies for breakfast and maybe a shake with fruit or veggies or salad for lunch/snacks during the work week. I need to break past some plateaus.

*Work on getting my steps up to 10,000 a day. Maybe take an extra walk in morning or evening. I only get about 4,000-5,000 right now.

* Spend more time outside in nature.

* Read books that promote peace, and are just beautiful to look at.

* Partake in some random acts of kindness

* Go paddle boarding,  I don't own one so I'd need to rent one or borrow one.

* Go on at least 1 hike a month

* Make homemade ice cream and try ice cream in a bag with grandson

* Have friends over for a fire and S'mores

* Try a couple new restaurants

* Photograph the night sky

* Take a few day trips

* Get together with friends

* Go to garage sales, thrift or antique stores

* Go on a City Walk with my daughter to take pictures

* Go to the Farmers Market

* Fun craft ideas with my Grandson

* Go visit a friend in Southern Oregon

Have fun with some food photography,  maybe update some of my blog recipes/photos

* Try some new summer recipes.

* Do a puzzle or two, My MIL got some neat ones I might borrow.

* Continue working on learning Spanish, some Italian and maybe sign language

* Be intentional with learning more skills for VA work

* Game nights. We've been playing cards once a week at my in laws but I'd also like to play some other games here at home.

*Attend some type of outdoor event: concert, fair, something new

* outdoor lawn games with family more: bocce ball, croquet..

I think I'll leave it at that for now. Maybe I'll add some more things later.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. Hi Kirstin, You've got an awfully ambitious list there. I hope you accomplish it. I'm glad you are doing a photography meet-up. I hope you will let us know all about it. :) I have chosen this post to link to your name on the attendance roster for the June Story Chat Summary. Thanks so much for commenting on Deb's story.

  2. What a joyful list, Kirsten. I especially love "Read books that promote peace, and are just beautiful to look at." That jumped out at me for some reason. I'm also working on acts of kindness and hiking, so good luck to both of us on those! I hope you enjoy your summer, whatever you do.

    1. Thank you for visiting. I need to visit everyone. I have a book I purchased that is so neat, called the Sweetness oof Doing Nothing. It's written by a woman who lives in Italy and the photos are so neat, it made me think of looking at more books that have more photos than words.

  3. What a great and comprehensive list! Best of luck to you. I have been doing much better with exercising with intention ever since my son got out of school and I don't have to be up early to drive him.

    1. We'll see how much of it I get done...lol. Thankfully I don't usually put too much pressure on myself.

  4. I have to get back to my Duolingo. Was doing so well and then went to see my mom and haven't been able to get back at it. Tonight's the night!!

Yay for the photography meet up. Please share what you guys do for that. I usually mention random acts of kindness and didn't this time. I need to go back and add that to my list. Even if it's nothing more than adding quarters to parking meters downtown.

Please share your ice cream in a bag experience and recipe. My dad always made homemade ice cream and I haven't tried to do it since he died. Kind of afraid I will fail. Would love a fool-proof recipe and a freezer recommendation!!

Thank you for joining me. Will be excited to follow along on your progress.
