Taking in Life Around Me.....#Sunday Stills....Things That are White

This weeks theme for #SundayStills is "Things that are white".  I'm so glad I found this challenge by Terrie from Second Wind Leisure. Find her current post here. I've also been loving visiting the blogs of the other participants and being inspired by their interpretations of the theme.

For this weeks theme I again, had to scour my past photos...oh for a day I can just get out and go take pictures. I'm not a fan of rainy weather so I don't venture out much in it, and living in the beautiful PNW, also means dealing with A LOT of rainy weather. So, there you have it.

White … is not a mere absence of color; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black

I love flowers....my daughter and I had to go explore the woods for a college class she was taking and I love seeing all the wild flowers. This one, Trillium is stunning. Here, you are not supposed to pick them. I always wish I'd see one on my own property, but I haven't yet.
My girls used to call these "wishy" flower.

The white stars and clouds.....taking photos for another college class. I sure had fun when she had college classes.

The white fog and clouds on an early morning trek up the hill to try and catch the sunrise.

Tulips are some of my favorite spring flowers. I loved both the ones above and the ones below at our local bulb farm.

Yep, even the cold Oregon Coast attracts people trying to surf. The white caps of the waves on this beach were so pretty. It was called Short Sand Beach.
There's nothing more beautiful than a waterfall!
The Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport Oregon. We climbed to the top and I'll admit it was tough for me, who doesn't like heights and the steps inside weren't solid. But it's gorgeous.

This guy lived next door to a lady I worked for. I loved his white face....he loved it when I mowed the lawn and he could enjoy fresh cut grass.

Gorgeous Mt. Hood ( think) from the airplane. I love flying over our gorgeous states of Oregon and Washington and seeing the mountains.
This was a fun photo....a bubble landed on the daisy!

The old Church at Magnolia Silos. Apparently it's one of the oldest building in Waco, originally built in 1894.
Is anyone else drawn to the wite pages of a good book! I love it.
Of course we can't forget the snow we had this winter. Finally! We rarely see this in our neck of the woods, so this was a real treat.
One of my favorite white mugs, white bowl, white planter, and in the far background, a white chicken bowl.

I can't wait to see what everyone else posted.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

    1. Thank you Terri. I can't wait til the weather cooperates more so I can get out to take more current photos but it's also been so fun to search through old ones and or think "oh, I remember taking a picture of such and such" and then going on a journey to find it.

  5. Great mix of objects for your colour theme of white. Love the trillium - I've seen it in Ontario, Canada and thought it was outstanding. Not something that grows around my area. I've also never seen a tulip like your first one - so pretty!

  6. Kirstin, I love your white photos, especially of Oregon. I used to live there, and went to Newport for a vacation with my brother three years ago o escape the CA heat. I can't imagine surfing at this time of year in OR. The water is always cold, but brrrrr. Thanks for the wonderful share. :)
