Taking in Life Around Me.....Sunday Stills: Fallen
This weeks theme for #SundayStills is "Fallen". I'm so glad I found this challenge by Terrie from Second Wind Leisure. Find her current post here.
Friends, I don't know where you live, but here in the Northwest it was be sooo wet! I have wanted so badly to get out with my camera but honestly, while I love the beautiful PNW, I DO NOT like being out in the rain. So once again I'm sharing past photos, but this has been so fun to go back and look through what I have, to remember the stories behind them.
I have always loved photos and taking photos, sometimes annoying my family with how much I take them, BUT I love recording memories, I love seeing and enjoying adventures through other peoples photos. Don't you?
I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the word "fallen".
If you haven't visited the Pacific NW I encourage you to do so. The water"falls" are amazing. The photos above and below are along the Eagle Creek trail, an area devastated by a terrible wildfire in 2017. They just recently reopened the trail.
This poor snake "fell" prey to a Great Blue Heron at our local wildlife refuge which is a beautiful and peaceful place to go.
This tree was on a trail on our way to that castle in Switzerland, this tree must've begun to "fall" but continued to grow.
Lost Lake in the Hood River Oregon area. Lots of fallen trees.
In December of 2015 we had a windstorm and as much as I love our hill to our home, the trees on the hillside make us nervous, and this storm. These trees fell cutting off anyway for anyone to get up or down. My awesome father in law broke out our chain saw and cut them while myself and another person tossed the pieces over the edge. It seems to be a yearly occurrence of a tree falling and thankfully no one has gotten hurt.
Fallen in love with all of these amazing humans, and the little human in my daughter's belly is due any day now. Left to right....hubby, me, youngest daughter, grandson, son in law and oldest daughter.
I love all the "fallen" leaves of autumn. It's one of my favorite seasons for this very reason. I love the colors, how crisp they are under my feet. So much beauty.
Freshly "fallen" snow. I'm not sure what year this was, but our property under winter snow is stunning.
Last but not least, it was amazing to me all of the buildings that lean and look like they're going to "Fall" over at any moment in Italy. In this post, I mention them.
Kirstin
Hi Kirstin you have been so creative with this week's #SundayStills prompt. We agreed on a couple like Fallen in Love but I also forgot about the Leaning Tower of Pisa and other beautiful buildings that look they are about to fall throughout Italy. Have a great week and now to put our thinking caps on for next week's prompt Rosy Red. x
ReplyDeleteYes....I know...I'm like "rosy red"...hmmmm how can I get creative with that one. Thank you for visiting and commenting. The towers in Venice were so cool...it took me a bit but a few times I thought "that just doesn't look straight"....lol
DeleteI loved your take on the prompt Kirstin, your snow falls, autumn leaves and that tree across the trail - how amazing! But best of all is the family shot, so much happiness and hopefully the new baby has arrived by now. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThank you Deb....and new baby arrived today. She's beautiful.
