Countdown to Christmas....Recipes passed down!
Years ago I put together a Holiday Notebook where I keep recipes I regularly make or want to try. I also have kept gift lists, lists of items I want to make with ingredients I have to buy.
The recipes on the right of the above picture (on the candy cane cards) were written in my moms handwriting. I treasure these recipes. One thing I love is that she'd write the names of who the recipe was passed down from. LOVE IT!!!
Many of these recipes are typed out, many are in the handwriting of my mom and grandma. Those are my favorite. Years ago our church put out a cookbook and so many of the recipes have my mother's name next to them. I will always cherish that book and I use the recipes often, as do others who have bought it and they often tell me how much they enjoyed it. The recipe below is from the cookbook I just mentioned.
Do you have special recipes that bring back memories of childhood? Are they handwritten or typed? I'd love to hear what they are...
The above recipe is a ravioli recipe written by my Grandma DiLuciano. I will keep this always.
I'm looking forward to this week of baking, cooking and reminiscing as well as making new memories. I can't wait to read about everyone's weeks out there in bloggy land.
