Winter Home Tip: Candles, Candles, Candles

I love decorating for Christmas and it's always a little sad when it comes time to take all the decor down and store it away for the next year. This year when everything was put away I let out a "sigh" and commented on how "empty" the house looked. I live in the Pacific NW which often means gray, wet and kind of dreary days in the winter. I love living here but I really don't like all the rain and "dark" days. I long for bright sun and blue skies. One way I get through the dreary winter days is to light candles.....LOTS of candles. There's just something about flames flickering and scents filling the house the just lifts my spirits and soothes my soul! I light lots of tealights and purchased several yummy smelling jar candles from my local costco! The other thing I do is that I take advantage of the wet days and do some pre-spring cleaning. Closets and cupboards cleaned out and un-used items thrown away. I also make a list of things I'd like to purchase to decorate for spring/summer. Check out The Inspired Room for more winter tips!
