Lost: Motivation and Energy, If found, Please Return!

......ASAP. I have things that need to get done! That's how I've felt this last week. I'm tired, and have no motivation to do anything that I need to do. Though at the moment I am sitting at my dining room table beginning to work on my taxes (that I was going to work on a week ago)...so that's a start. I mean it's not like I'm sitting around in a robe surrounded by disaster and chaos. My house is clean, my laundry is getting done and there are only 3 dishes in the sink....my house is not trashed. I just don't have much energy and motivation. Sigh....I'm exercising 4 days a week at least, getting an okay amount of sleep and just started re-taking my vitamins (that might be a big help). I think alot of it has to do with being in a new house, trying to make some sort of routine and watching a five month old baby 4 days a week and homeschooling during that babysitting time. Hmmmmm.....I daily wonder....when will life return to normal...I have all these ideas of what I want to do with the girls during the day (make bagels, work in the yard....etc...) and then I think....what's normal anyways? I want to go win the lottery so I can buy all kinds of new things for my house (I can't wait for garage sales).....maybe it's the fact that I'm in the midst of "that time of the month" and I need to keep everything in perspective...Ya Think?
Several times I want to just sit and post or browse my favorite blogs but there's just no time, or someone has hi-jacked my laptop....the negative of having the only laptop in the house and the only computer in the house with wireless internet capabilities...I'm determined to remedy that very soon!!!
Sooooo....while I'm sitting here posting and NOT working on my taxes, I'll tell you that yesterday I received the new lens I bought on ebay. Whoo hoo. I am so excited!!! I can take pictures again and it's a wide angle lens which I think I'll like so much better. If you didn't read a past post...I broke my other small camera lens...a very sad day. I also received some books from CBD that I had ordered for my niece for Christmas. It was so fun to get two packages in the mail. I realize that while gifts is not my #1 love language, I love, love, love receiving packages in the mail...I just love mail, whether it's e-mail, or snail mail....Words of Affirmation is my second love language...well, maybe tied with touch for #1 and maybe gifts would be next.
Hubby and I have been going to the gym 4 days a week. Today we didn't stay as long because we got a late start and I needed to get back to babysit. We usually go for about 45 minutes. It helps to go together because neither of us is motivated on our own. I have lost 12 1/2 pounds since October, as well as seeing the inches dwindling, which is very exciting to me. I have about 30 more pounds to go. I'm 5'7 and would like to weigh 150 at least. 140 would be cool, but I'd be happy with 150.
I'm really, really enjoying being in our new home. We should be getting mattresses for everyone in the next week. They are on hold at the moment. That will make things so much better. I love all the room I have in my kitchen and I'm working on organizing a few other areas. Once I see garage sales, I'll hit them up for neat containers, baskets, etc...I'll also be on the hunt for table cloths and aprons and other "fun" stuff.
I've been thinking about my garden. I need to talk to a few neighbors and see if I can "hire" them to break up my ground for me. This first initial time would kill a rototiller. That will be the "big" yard thing for this year. Thankfully our Christmas Trees are a beautiful addition to the property and instant landscaping. Did I mention that when I went outside one day not long after Christmas I noticed one of our trees had been cut down?  Thankfully not a beautiful one, but still...someone came onto our property and cut a tree....I mean, the nerve of people.
Okay, as much as I'd like to keep typing and I'm sure I'll think of something else to say, I really should go work on taxes. I'll save something to type for tomorrow.  With Joy UNquenchable,

  1. If you find your motivation, can you pass some on to me? I'm really struggling lately, and I don't have NEARLY as much on my plate as you do!
Congrats on the weight loss - I need to get back to being serious again. Sounds like we are right at the same weight, and we are the same height too! My goal sounds exactly like yours too. We must have been separated at birth! LOL!
I was doing well before the weather started getting cold (before the holidays) and then it all went downhill. I need to get back in the groove and get back into a little shape before the weather starts to warm up so I can get back out there and do some biking and running again. If I tried it right now, I'd probably drop after 5 minutes! So I need to ease myself back in a little!
Good grief, I didn't intend to leave such a long comment! I think I should stop now! LOL!

  3. I hear ya. Now on top of everything I have a cold. I know exactly what you feel like with the young baby there. It is time consuming.

Sounds like your doing good on the weight loss front.

  4. Kirstin take a good look at what you have been doing for the past 2 years - you've built a house! Not to mention all of the other stuff in your very busy life.

It is normal and perfectly acceptable for you to have a phase where you just need to chill out. I mean its winter and who wants to go out at all?! Its a hybernating thing and I look forward to January in particular every year because I do a lot of sitting in front of my fireplace, reading and planning my garden. Unfortunately flood cleanup has cut into my fireplace time which I am not happy about.

Give yourself some slack and put your feet up! You deserve it!
