Kitchen Tip Tuesday: Cookies in a Jiff!
My family loves cookies, but we also don't take the time to make them often. Plus, some members of my family would eat them all within a day. Awhile back I was trying to figure out how to make only a few cookies at a time. I didn't want to make the whole batch.
With Joy UNquenchable,
I decided that I would mix up an entire batch of dough, but only bake what I wanted, maybe 8 at a time. I made "dough balls" out of the remaining dough and placed them on a cookie sheet in the freezer to harden. Once the dough balls were hardened I put them in a gallon size plastic bag. When we felt like cookies, we'd grab a few balls out of the freezer, pop them on the pan, bake and enjoy. It satisfies the sweet tooth as well as help with self control. Of course, if they know the dough balls are in there, somehow the amount seems to dwindle....I think there are little mice that raid my freezer when I'm not looking.
Yes, we love to eat the dough....I admit it. I'm a sucker for cookie dough and while we've never "died" from eating raw dough, Nan and I did find a recipe for eggless dough. We thought it would be yummy and also a good thing to use sometime in our homemade ice cream. YUMMY!!
I do this, too!! I've had a variety in my freezer at times, but I think I only have 1 kind right now. Need to make up some more to freeze! :D
ReplyDeleteI've done this, too, but not for awhile. I need to do it, as much for me as for the family. I love a good cookie.
