Birthday Ear Piercing

Today was my 40th birthday.  And really, there are no worries in it. I have no problem turning 40. It was a great day. Kat and our friend went to the local village country store and bought me a cinnamon roll and a crossword puzzle book.
A few months ago Kat had decided that she wanted to get her ears pierced. Back when I was in school I got my ears double pierced but over the years they closed up. I told Kat that when she got hers done, I'd get mine pierced again. And today just happened to be the day. It just happened to be on my 40th birthday. But it had nothing to do with any crisis or anything else related to turning 40 for that matter! I just thought it would be a lot of fun.
I thought I'd share a few pictures from our evening. After the ear piercing we went to Red Robin for dinner.
I actually was doing pretty good right here...but she was taking quite a long time!
Then I'm getting so nervous because she's taking so long. Apparently she was having a hard time lining up the gun with the original holes. I seriously was getting nervous.
This is how things look from the perspective of a 4'2 ten year old. Not very flattering but thought I'd try them.
Ta Da! A little sore, but I like how it looks.
Kat actually went first. She was very nervous, but she did great!
Nan was checking out the earrings. She's got plans for her sister for Christmas.
She's still smiling.
Can you believe it....she smiled the entire time. She said that's what she does when she's nervous.
The other cool thing that happened today was that throughout the day I got quite a few texts with encouraging birthday "declarations". I'll post some of them tomorrow. It was so fun and encouraging.
Kat and my hubby outside...it has been sooo cold!
The sky was amazing tonight. It was just a bit brighter than this.
With Joy UNquenchable,

  4. Hi missy...yes I felt the hug...

Robin...I'm way to chicken to get anything but my ears pierced. I actually think some tatoos are super cute, but seem way too painful.
