Menu Plan Monday

It's amazing how crazy life gets. Last week we were gone and the girls were on their own with their sitter. This week is back to life and yet we don't get paid till the end of the week, so it will be a week of making do with what is in the kitchen. I'm not always good at this because I don't always do well without a recipe, unless it's something basic. Coming up with a new recipe is very foreign to me. I think I'll browse all of your menus for ideas. Fall has definitely set in and the weather is colder. I make a mean chicken soup, so I'm sure that'll go to the top of the list because it requires very few ingredients. I also have some elk meat so I may try a stew with that or something else. Salmon and rice (actually I just read someone elses menu and they made salmon with couscous..I have some of that and corn bread...that sounds good) will top the menu because I know that is in the freezer and a tuna casserole because I'm pretty sure I have ingredients for that and we just love that comfort food. BBQ chicken also sounds yummy. As for sides....well, that'll be whatever's left in the fridge. Next week will be more exciting, I promise....well I don't know about exciting, but it'll be more organized. Thanks for letting me be so random..LOL With Joy UNquenchable,

  1. I rarely use recipes for cooking. I use them for baking but not cooking. Thats why its so annoying to me to be asked for a recipe for something I make! I dont have them and people seem to think I do! LOl

Winging it may end up being so much fun that you will start playing around with your own recipes and surprise yourself!

  2. Sounds like what my week of meals is going to be like! :) We don't get paid til the end of the week too so I am using the stockpile to make our meals happen this week.

I took the time to make a freezer inventory and also did a pantry inventory before I got to planning this week's menu so take the time to do that and that should help meals fall together. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Yes crashed potatoes are a big hit here! I take the time to make them "loaded" by adding real bacon bits to them before putting them in the oven and then when they come out of the oven I sprinkle them with shredded cheddar! :)
