Works for Me Wednesday

Today's Works For Me Wednesday, hosted by Rocks in My Dryer is all about Kitchen Organization. My solution...move into a house that isn't yours with a kitchen that isn't yours and you don't have to organize! Okay, just kidding, though that's what I've done for the past 2 years. But I'm all about organization in my kitchen. I'm already thinking ahead to our new house and how I want my pantry and cupboards to be organized. I've never had a pantry. I do have a large white Costco bought cupboard that works like a pantry, and is organized! On the top shelves are all my canned goods. On the second shelf I have all my boxes of grains or bulk rices, or whatever in plastic containers. The bottom part holds snacks, potatoes, and baking goods on their own separate shelves. In my new kitchen my pantry will be open so I plan to utilize a lot of glass jars (and hope I don't drop any because my floors are concrete). A labeler will become my friend. I also want to use baskets to hold certain items. Yes, it's just a pantry, but the kitchen is my domain and I want it to be pleasing to the eye and fun to be in. In our old house I had a cupboard reserved strictly for baking items. I knew that's where all the baking things would be found. Another thing that's important is keeping the cupboards and fridge clean. I hate going into refrigerators that are nasty and dirty. Yuck! Or cupboards that have stuff spilled all over them. Speaking of refrigerators, I usually organize the shelves in my fridge as well. Putting certain items on certain shelves for easier access. On my counters, the tools I use regularly are always kept handy. My measuring cups and spoons are kept in one common area as well. Well seeing as I haven't had my own kitchen for two years, that's about all the organization thoughts I have for now! With Joy UNquenchable,

  1. I just saw a Rachael Ray last week about pantry cupboards. Here, I found it on youtube. If it gives you some ideas....

We are recovering from the laundry pile. AND lice free although I've felt itchy for two days, haha. Power of suggestion.

I was surprised to see RIMD! I didn't know Shannon was still blogging. (I knew her before fame, fortune, and more than 10 readers..hehe)
