Biggest Loser: Woodland Edition Update

I have a new compassion for the folks on The Biggest Loser. I don't know how in the world they do it day after day. I know the whole thing is for "TV" and I really don't know the inside scoop on how anything works, but all I know is that I'm dying!!! We've been going for a week and a half and one day hasn't gone by that I'm not so stinkin sore I just want to escape for two months and come back when it's done. And we only meet 2 days a week for 2 hours. Two grueling hours of killer cardio and strength building that I can't feel my legs when I'm done. Seriously, on Tuesday I was trying so hard to do a few of the exercises. My brain wanted to, but it was like the connection was broke from brain to my legs and those things just would not cooperate! I lost 2.5 pounds last week. I would have liked to have lost more, but I'm okay with this. I broke through that plateau and if I can be consistent with this I'll be happy. It is hard to find the time to exercise hard on the days we don't meet as a group. Life is busy. But I try. It's been a great motivation for me. I've done very well with only having one maybe two cups of coffee a day and equally well eating when I'm hungry and stopping when I'm satisfied. I need to work a little more on eating fresh fruit or veggies during the day. But I'm really feeling good about my progress. It needs to be something that is going to continue as reality after this 2 months is done. One thing I noticed is that my weight loss probably won't be as dramatic as others because unlike the others, there's not a whole lot to change in our diet. We already eat healthy. Those whose diets are filled with sugars, processed stuff, or too many calories etc...will lose more as soon as they start making changes that cut down or cut out those items. My biggest change as far as my diet goes, is making sure I eat breakfast, and not really snacking when I'm not hungry, and eating healthier snacks. A few other things, like drinking less coffee will significantly cut down my sugar, but that's about it. I'm not sure that I can realistically win this, but I am developing better habits and to me that is very important. We meet again tonight and I'll be honest I wish we had a break. My thighs are screaming! One thing I've been enjoying for lunches is one whole wheat tortilla with some black beans, mozzarella/cheddar cheese, avocado, tomato and some salsa with plain yogurt. A yummy quessadilla. With Joy UNquenchable,
