This and That

Yesterday morning I sat at my computer and heard the school bus go by and thought, "another year of school starts again". Of course my girls were still snuggled under their covers and they won't start school till October. I'm hoping that works good for us. They are testing this week so for two hours in the mornings that's what we do. They started yesterday and are doing fine. But that means I don't get to the property till later because I need to walk them through the testing. Yesterday I didn't make it up at all. We tested and then a friend of mine came to visit for a bit. I got home around 12:30 and by the time I would have gotten to the property I would have only been there 45 minutes before I'd have to get the girls for soccer practice. I was too tired anyways so I stayed home. Today though I have to get up there and finish painting the downstairs bathroom and get at least one coat on the upstairs bathroom. The girls school books began arriving yesterday. We received one box and I believe we have about 5 more coming. I think I'm more excited then they are. I looked through what we got yesterday and I'm very pleased with my decisions. I better be, after pouring over them for so long. Monday we went with some friends to our local Parade of Homes. The houses were huge, but practically no yards. I just can't see spending all that money and not having a yard or place to entertain or enjoy life outside. Of course they probably have no time for that because they both have to work to pay for the house. It was fun though to walk through. Afterwards we went to lunch and then Nan, a friend and I went to downtown Portland to Pioneer Place to the Apple Store so I could buy a few computer programs for my laptop. I feel almost complete now. I had to order a battery this morning as the store didn't have them in stock. Soccer has started for both girls and that means busy, busy, busy! Coordinating games, coordinating working at the property and everything else. Yikes! Lord help me! I was thinking this week would be on the cooler side so I had planned to make some soups. The nights and mornings are chilly but the days are still in the mid to upper 70's, even the 80's. Hmmm...I may have to re-think the soup thing. Which reminds me, I want to get something in the crockpot...I think it'll be soup C(: I went to the property yesterday and hubby had put up some of our outdoor lights. I'll put pictures up soon. I think eventually I'll get larger ones for the garage....maybe. They just seem small. I really want to try to put together some slide shows on Flikr so I can post those easier, but just haven't had time to sit down and do it. I also need to transfer some of my documents over to my laptop, but haven't had time to do that either. Oh, boy...lots to do. I guess I better go get busy. With Joy UNquenchable,
