Kitchen Tip Tuesday: Bulk items

I'm blogging from another computer today and it's dial-up. Yikes. So head over to Tammy's Recipes for more Kitchen Tips. My tip for today is to take advantage of bulk sections in your local grocery stores. We have WinCo Grocery stores here in the Northwest and I love this store. When I discovered it years ago it became an absolute blessing to my grocery budget. Their bulk section is amazing. Tubs and vats full of everything you can think of. From flours, to spices, to candy, to pasta. Even dog food, tea and other snacks. Often times a recipe will call for a spice that I may not use again, or use often. And honestly I can't justify spending $5 or more on a spice that may just sit on my shelf. So I buy it in bulk. Just a little bit. I buy my flour, pasta, granola, cocoa, and lots of other things through it. It is a real money saver for our family. With Joy UNquenchable,

  1. Thanks for the reminder! I would like to get some rosemary to try in a recipe and I forgot to look at the bulk section at my local grocery store.

  4. Gee, I wish we had something like that here. We don't have any bulk sections in our supermarkets.
