#WQWWC......August 25th Theme....Intensity

It's another week of  Writer's Quotes Wednesday, hosted by Marsha from Always Write. If you're interested in joining, you can find more about #WQWWC here.

This weeks theme is "Intensity" or "friendship". I'm going to go with intensity. Wow...that's a loaded word right? One thing is for sure, I am not an "intense" person.

What does intense even mean?

Intense = of extreme force, degree, or strength. Having or showing strong feelings or opinions; extremely earnest or serious.

Nope, not me. At least not in a literal sense, because I know there are variations of this definition. I suppose there are things I feel "intensely" about, BUT as far as personality, I'm not intense.

My youngest daughter played soccer from the time she was 4 until she graduated (club and high school). My oldest played club until high school and then just played high school soccer and golf. Both were passionate about their sports and played them with intensity (if you can play golf with intensity...lol). My youngest was small, but she was fierce and boy did she make her mark. I wish she would have kept playing after high school.

My granddaughter Pepper can sure get some intense looks on her face....she's a smiley one but sometimes we laugh at how serious she looks.

I did find some quotes on intensity that really resonated with me and I can certainly see how I'd want to live them out and apply "intensity" in these contexts.

I love every one of those!!! Did they resonate with you? I feel like the way we choose to live life is so important! I believe that the way we approach our everyday interactions with people, with our routines is significant. I believe that our awareness of our mental, emotional and physical state is so so vital, and if these things require a degree of intensity, then so be it.

I do not want to live life just getting by, barely surviving, bound by fear, regret, second guessing. In that sense, I want to live life intensely. I want to live it to the fullest. I don't want to "settle" for "what is", if "what is" isn't serving me well, or not causing contentment, satisfaction, joy, fulfillment.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. Kirstin, this is lovely. Your daughters are definitely intense, as is the photo of your granddaughter. There is an intensity to your thoughts in your posts. Most people have some intensity about different aspects of their lives: their job, hobbies, family, health, wealth, friendships, service to their community - something lights their fire. Yours today was obviously the intense pride you have in your family. Embrace your intensity and have a wonderful week. :)
