Currently.....Celebrating, Collecting, Thinking, Gifting, Trying

I happened to stumble upon this fun linky party awhile back via a few other blogs I read. It sounded fun. Hosted by Anne from In Residence blog. Welcome to my first post for June. This fun party happens at the beginning of each month and highlights various things we are currently doing. I'm not sure if these are things that

Currently.......

Celebrating: At the end of May, we celebrated my FIL's birthday with a hamburger lunch, German Chocolate Cake (his favorite) and a yummy cheesecake. One year I made him his cake, but seeing as I do not like that kind of cake I didn't sample it to see if it turned out. Everyone liked it though. I'm celebrating summer and nicer weather. Hopefully a lot less rain. Here in the PNW it rains...A LOT.

Gifting: I have a few graduates I sent cards to along with a little cash-o-la! I already gifted my dad his Fathers Day gift (a fishing rod). We don't have any other celebrations, but maybe as I think of it, I'll do some "random" gifting, as I feel led.

Collecting: I'm trying NOT to collect anything, but rather get rid of things. My daughter and I just had a garage sale last weekend. However, I do tend to be a collector of books, especially free ones for my kindle. I daily head over to See Mom Click to see what offerings there are. I have more books on my kindle than I'll ever read. I really need to either read them or delete them. I also love to collect quotes and save fun or inspiring memes.

Thinking: I'm thinking of wanting to revamp some old recipe posts. I'm thinking of creating a blog series on a specific topic, and also beginning to Chronicle the finishing of our home...if you search Home Building you'll find our journey. I'm thinking about decisions that have to be made.

Trying: I'm trying to get back in the swing of exercise and weight loss. I've had a few setbacks due to my back bothering me and a really rough menstrual cycle (can we say peri-menopause). I'm trying to navigate that the best I can. I'm trying to find new recipes to add to our menus. Ones that will fit with my hubby for helping him lose weight.

I can't to see what everyone else is currently doing.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

    1. Thank you for visiting Natasha...Slowly easing back into exercise. Not beating myself up (cuz we know when we slack, we go backwards fast), but celebrating accomplisments of just getting it done

  3. Happy Birthday to your FIL! I am a fan of German Chocolate cake too, but I never make it because no one else in my family likes coconut! Books are one thing I tend to collect too.

  4. Thanks so much for joining in! I'm with you on collecting books - usually I manage to keep the physical collection in check, but it's so easy to load up the Kindle, especially when you find a great deal! I've been into following @dailyebookdeals on Instagram, and she's posted some really good ones lately.

  5. I am the exact same way with books on my Kindle. I'm hoping to force myself to only bring my kindle on our vacation and at least knock a few titles off the list that just accumulating! And I too am really struggling to get back to regular exercise and healthy eating.
