Simplify for me please!

People, I need some help, and I need it SIMPLE!! I'm trying to "update" my blog just a bit without totally re-doing things because I just don't have time, nor money to pay someone to re-do it for me. I'm trying to add the whole "commentluv" thing, and an icon on my side bar so people can follow my blog. The problem is, that as I'm reading through the "how-to's" I'm just not getting it and I'm wasting too much time (that I need to use doing other things). If anyone has any simple "how-to" tips I'd appreciate them very much! Thanks! With Joy UNquenchable,

  1. Hey Kirstin! I don't know what the commentluv is, but to update my blog...for free I switched to the stretch minima template and added what I wanted to my side bar. You can also create pages at the top now to categorize posts. I had to play with it to get what I wanted. For my topper I googled free blog headers, right clicked what I wanted and saved it to my computer and then used Picasa to edit it. I have also started using Window Live Writer (free to download) for publishing my page. You can make you pics larger and actually insert them where you want. I used a lot of trial and error to get my blog to look a little better without paying someone.

    Hope this helps!

  2. I don't know what the commentluv thing is either, but for following - go to the layout section on your blog and the followers is under the "add a gadget" section.
    Hope this helps!

  3. Thanks gals...Jennifer, I switched my template...I was just in the mood for something simple and clean. Kinda wish my header was longer, but oh well, it looks fine I think....I'll keep tweaking it here and there.

  4. I see you have a subscribe thingie at the top of your sidebar. So it's there?? :)

I don't know what the commentluv is either. I use Wordpress. I'm told Blogspot is really easier to use but I've used WP for a while now and so I don't get Blogspot! LOL

  6. I made my own button. Do you have something like Photoshop?

I just made an image. Then put the image in my sidebar and linked it to the URL that would take someone to the feed.

Or just use images that are out there in the web. Google "feed image" and you'll see a lot. You just save it as a picture IMG and then put the picture in your sidebar and add a link to it.
