Slow Cooker Thursday: Sloppy Joes

Sandra over at Diary of a Stay At Home Mom hosts Slow Cooker Thursday and there are some great recipes over there.
Last weekend I made Sloppy Joes or my youngest daughter's  birthday. I started them in a regular pan, but finished them off in the crock pot.
First I browned 3 pounds of ground beef. Once browned, I added chopped onion. You could also add peppers, mushrooms, or whatever else you like. At this point put the beef in the crockpot. You can either add the ingredients for the sauce directly into the crockpot or in a separate bowl or pan first, and then add it to the beef.
For the sauce, I added one can of tomato sauce, about 2 cups ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, worcestershire sauce, molasses, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper and crushed garlic. You could also add cayenne pepper if you want it a bit spicy. I'm sorry I don't have amounts. I just dumped things in the pan until it tasted good to me. There are a lot of recipes on the web and most contain the same ingredients and they of course give amounts. Mix it in with the ground beef and turn the slow cooker on, letting it cook till you're ready to eat. These were so yummy that they will be on our menu on a regular basis.
