Works for Me Wednesday

I'm tired and honestly cannot think of what works for me. Sleep might work for me..but that won't happen. So I'll just share little tidbits of little things that pop into my tired head of what works or has worked for me/us. No Clutter: Living out of basically two rooms for two years has helped us keep down on clutter. We've never been pack rats. We regularly go through things and get rid of what we won't use or haven't used in awhile. I'm sure it will stay that way once we move back into our own home. Homeschooling: It gives us the opportunity to instill in our girls the things that we deem important. It allows a flexibility to vacation during the off seasons, and spend more time together as a family. It is not a way to "shelter" them from the big, bad world. We want our girls to be world changers and get out there and impact others. Thus they play on soccer teams and have friends who aren't "gasp" Christians. Of course we are choosy with who they "spend time with". But this works for us. The girls like to work independently and I jump in when they need help. Internet: I love that so much is available to me at my fingertips. Recipes, how-to's, etc...it amazes me what I can find if I just look hard enough. One day I'll figure out how to make some money using this tool. Excel: Once I figured out how to use it, I loved it. I make my homeschool charts, our family finance records and whatever else I can come up with on Excel. It is an amazing tool and does a lot of the work for you if you take time to figure out how to use it. Okay....I don't know what else. I know there are lots of things that work, but I really can't think right now. I've had fun browsing your ideas and gleened a few for myself. Next week I'll have a better idea....I promise. With Joy UNquenchable,

  4. i love excel too....though I don't love the 2007 version I got with my new computer...I can't find anything on it.

I really admire that you homeschool. I think it's very important for parents to take an active role in their child's education, and with the some of the schools today, you never know what the kid's will learn. I commend you.
